Go For It

Friendly reminder: If you want something in this life, you have to make it happen. If you do not go for it, no one else will make it happen for you. These are not just empty words. Instead, these are words by which I live my life.

I am presently struggling with something that is difficult, and I fully intend to better the situation. Just taking small proactive steps to bring change to this situation makes me feel better. If nothing else, at least I know I am trying to fix the problem.

Culturally speaking, we tend to let life happen to us instead of taking control of our circumstances. Why? I think it is because we often do not know any better, because we have not been told otherwise.

I am here to tell you, if you are unhappy, you can change your situation. Maybe you are happy, but there is a goal you really want to achieve. Well, you have to start working to make that goal become a reality.

Everything about you is a result of your doing or not doing… Your income. Debt. Relationships. Health. Fitness level. Attitudes and behaviors. I’ve often said that you are either creating or allowing everything that is happening in your life. I think everyone knows this in their hearts, but often times people convince themselves into thinking that external factors are the source of their failure, disappointment, and unhappiness. External factors do not determine how you live. You are in complete control of the quality of your life, by either creating or allowing the circumstances you experience. Take 100 percent control of your life. -Jack Canfield

I also would like to remind you that in order to bring the things you want into your life, you must believe that it can happen for you. Believing in it is key. So how do we begin to believe it? Try utilizing the tool of visualization. If I want something, I visualize myself having it, or completing it, etc.

When we visualize ourselves as having something, or visualize the goal has already been achieved, it becomes reality in our minds. The parts of the brain that are active when we are performing a task are also active when we are visualizing a task. Essentially, the brain works the same in visualization as it does in actual practice.

Visualize yourself accomplishing a task, and when it comes time to perform, your brain and your mind work as if it has already succeeded. It is like a dancer practicing constantly before a performance. When she goes on stage, she does not think. Instead, she turns off her conscious mind and lets her body perform as it has been trained.

The best part is, visualization is easy and it can be done anywhere. If you are an artist or a visual thinker, perhaps you will create a vision board for yourself, where you prominently display images of the things you want in a place where you will see them everyday. The old adage goes “seeing is believing” right?

Visualize. Believe. Act. Achieve.

It. Can. Happen. For. You.

Believe. It.

Lovingly yours,

~Amber
